Objective

This summer course provides an overview of the fundamentals of European data protection law. It addresses key legal questions related to the application of the GDPR and related instruments, through discussion of legislative developments, case law, and practical case studies.

Participants will also engage with high-level experts who will offer guidance on everyday data protection issues.

Who should attend?

This summer course offers basic knowledge of European data protection law. It is intended for lawyers in private practice, in-house counsel, and EU or national civil servants seeking an introduction to the field. As preparation, participants are encouraged to complete the e-learning course on data protection available on ERA’s website. 

Visit to the CJEU in Luxembourg 

(for onsite participants)
Participants in the summer course will have the opportunity to visit the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg.

Online participation option

The event will be streamed live online. You have the option to follow the conference on Zoom, enabling you to ask questions and take part in the discussion with participants in Trier.
