ERA and the UK after Brexit
The United Kingdom’s membership of the European Union ceased on 31 January 2020.
This does not, however, alter the status of the United Kingdom as a whole and of Scotland in its own right as patrons of the Academy of European Law (ERA) Foundation. The UK acceded to the ERA Foundation in 2002 and Scotland in 2005.
UK and Scottish judges, prosecutors and other state officials will therefore continue to receive a preferential discount on participation in ERA’s open events.
ERA will also continue to focus on the future relationship between the UK and the EU in its programmes. The next event dedicated to the topic will be a seminar on Post-Brexit Cooperation in Criminal Justice in Brussels on 3 March 2020.
