Objective

This third seminar in a series of four co-funded by the European Commission on issues related to countering terrorism and radicalisation will focus on rehabilitation and alternative sanctions to detention in relation to radicalised individuals. The use of the relevant Framework Decisions within this context will be analysed, along with the judiciary’s role in this area.

• Alternative probationary measures and reintegration into society
• Rehabilitation methods and programmes in relation to foreign fighters, as well as supervision within the context of Framework Decisions 2008/829 (European Supervision Order), 909 (transfer of prisoners) and 947 (probation and alternative sanctions)
• Risk assessment of individuals and the role of the judiciary in disengagement, rehabilitation and de-radicalisation.

Participation Conditions

Participation fee: € 200

The number of places available for participants is limited. All applicants will be informed if they have been selected or not after the application procedure has closed.

Travel costs for a maximum of €300 and accommodation for a maximum of two nights (7-9 March 2018) up to €150 per night will be reimbursed by ERA upon receipt of the original boarding passes, receipts and invoices after the seminar.

Please note that these rules do not apply to representatives of EU Institutions and Agencies and all residents of non-EU states, who should cover their own flights and accommodation. Participants should come from eligible EU Member States (the UK and Denmark do not participate in the Justice Programme 2014-2020).

Participants are asked to book their own travel and accommodation.

Spanish applicants who work for the prosecution service (CEJ) must apply for this event through CEJ.
