Objective
The seminar will focus on the most recent jurisprudence of the
European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) related to personal data
protection and the right to privacy.
Over the last few years the ECtHR has had a raising number of cases
related to proportionate and disproportionate interferences with
personal data protection and privacy rights. These rights fall under the
scope of Article 8 of the Convention and are slowly but surely
expanding the notion of private life.
Key topics
- Personal data protection and privacy definitions
- Employment context concerns and implications
- Companies’ right or obligation to provide personal data to state authorities
- Control over one’s right to privacy (images, medical files, fingerprints, etc.)
Who should attend?
Lawyers in private practice, judges and prosecutors, civil servants dealing with data protection and privacy.
