The European Commission's communication on the “Future of Transport”:
- the Commission's long-term priorities of ensuring capacity, safety, sustainability and increasing co-modality and interoperability by the years 2030 and 2050, on the basis of the communication to be published in June 2009
The contract of carriage:
- the challenge of achieving door-to-door transport by one contract for different modes of transport
- issues arising in cross-border contracts litigation, such as the interaction of the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR) with the Brussels I and Rome I Regulations
Passenger rights:
- the recent Wallentin case (C-549/07), confirming protection of passenger rights in the aviation sector
- the Regulations expanding those rights to bus, coach and boat travellers
