There is a constant need for innovation and modernisation in the justice sector as a whole; however, legal professions and national judiciaries seem to find their own ways to achieve better, faster, and more cost-efficient results individually.

This conference aims to gather the best practices of innovation introduced by the various legal professions in order to provide better access to justice for everyone, the delivery of justice of high quality in a reasonable time and efficient manner, and the better use of limited resources across the European Union.

Aside from the technical innovation, such as digitalising procedures, videoconferencing, and AI, there are many organisational and legal innovations suited to achieving this goal. The conference aims to chart the current experience with innovation and deliberate on the future needs and limitations that require attention.

About the Forum

The EU Forum of the Legal Professions is an initiative that aims to launch a structured dialogue among the representations of legal professions in Europe, where common challenges and concerns can be addressed and analysed, and a joint position can be formulated.

This is an inter-professional platform of exchange, a collaborative and evolving project between the legal professions, where the Academy of European Law plays the role of a facilitator. We aim to organise an event every year, where the latest trends and most relevant issues of common interest can be discussed by the members of the Forum.

Format

Hybrid Event
Online participants can take the floor or address written questions to the panel through a live chat in Zoom. The link will be provided after registration.

The conference will be held in Brussels with a limited number of participants on site.
There is only a limited number of places available for f2f participants. After registering you will be notified in due course if you have been selected.
