This seminar will provide a platform to debate and assess how the (proposed) new EU Directive on attacks against information systems (“Directive on Cybercrime”) and other European and international instruments are addressing large-scale cyber attacks and other threats posed by methods such as botnets, i.e. networks of compromised computers infected by malicious software and remotely controlled by a “botmaster”.
Key topics
- Modus procedendi and consequences in the real world of Stuxnet and other recent malware
- 2011 draft EU Directive and 2001 Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime

The internet industry will by represented by Google and Microsoft.
