For the second consecutive year the Academy of European Law and the
Institute for German and European Water Management Law of the
University of Trier will organise an international conference in
Brussels on the challenges of modern European water management law.
The results of the conference of April 2008 showed that a regular
European platform for legal practitioners, academics and policymakers
to analyse in depth the current state and future perspectives of water
management law is required.
Beside an overview of the current situation and of future legislative
prospects, the conference will focus on cross-border cooperation in
river basin districts, the relationship between water law and nature
conservation, climate change aspects as well as economic issues related
to the definition of water pricing policies, tax incentives and public
procurement legislation.
