Objective

The aim of this seminar is to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and tools for the successful implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It will also allow them to exchange best practices in the field.

  • Monitoring role of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and a State’s reporting obligation
  • Building and implementing European and national disability policies
  • How to account for the UNCRPD and include disability issues into the legislative cycle
  • Best practices for an inclusive implementation process; involvement of civil society and DPOs

Who should attend?

National civil servants and members of NGOs, DPOs and equality bodies from an EU Member State and those candidate countries and EEA/EFTA countries which have decided to participate in the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme, who have an interest in the policy and legislative process related to disability
