Summer Course: Constitutional Law of the European Union

, 15 June 2009 – 17 June 2009
Language:

Event number:
309B10

Areas of law:

The objective of this five-day summer course is to provide a thorough overview of the constitutional and institutional law of the European Union:
  • the evolution and the constitutional foundations of the EU,
  • the tasks of the various institutions and their roles in the EU decision-making process,
  • the work of the European Court of Justice, the system of judicial remedies and the role of the national courts,
  • the scope of the EU’s competence, including the EU’s “core” policies and cooperation in the 2nd and 3rd pillars.
Participants will have the opportunity to prepare in advance through an e-learning course via the ERA website.

A visit to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg with the opportunity to attend a hearing is an integral part of the programme.

The size of visitor groups to the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg is strictly limited by the Court for practical reasons. Unfortunately we are therefore unable to guarantee that all summer course participants will be able to attend. Places for the ECJ visit will be allocated to registered participants on a 'first come, first served' basis.
