Objective
This 2.5-day workshop introduces EU
environmental law, offering a comprehensive examination of its key
legislation, jurisprudence, and mechanisms. The workshop outlines the
relationship between European and national environmental law through an
in-depth analysis of impact assessment requirements, biodiversity
protection, air quality standards and the Industrial Emissions
Directive.
Participants will explore these legal
frameworks, analysing key articles and relevant case law through
practical case studies. Finally, the workshop highlights the importance
of access to justice and covers enforcement mechanisms at the national
level, with practical insights emphasising the role of judges and
prosecutors in upholding EU environmental law.
