The constant development of European Union law requires practitioners in many areas of law to update continually their knowledge. This seminar will offer an overview of the latest innovations following the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty, in particular the new EU institutional framework and its implications.
Attention will be focused on the most recent developments in the internal market, in particular in the following critical areas of law:

- Insurance sector in the aftermath of the financial crisis;
- Environmental law, in particular climate change issues and the necessity for energy-efficient economies;
- Trademarks and the fight against counterfeiting;

- State aid policy aimed at recovery from the financial and economic crisis,
- The most up-to-date case law on cartels, abuse of a dominant position and mergers;
