Objective

This conference will enable practitioners of law specialising in social security to keep up-to-date with the most recent developments in legislation, jurisprudence and practice in this field.

The new EU social security coordination rules entered into force on 1 May 2010. The new regulations have faced problems in terms of implementation at national and local level. Administrative cooperation between social security institutions presents a real challenge and in the context of major reform of national social security schemes, the relevance of some new coordination rules has been questioned.

Key topics

  • Recent legislation and jurisprudence of the European Court of Justice
  • Experience of the implementation of the new coordination regulations – implementation problems and the way forward
  • Coordination rules versus new national social protection policies

Who should attend?

Lawyers in private practice, public administration and civil society specialising in social security law
