This intensive training is intended for young European lawyers who would like to learn about cross-cutting areas of EU law and to be able to contribute to the effective and coherent application of EU law.

The training will be a unique opportunity to develop the spirit of a common European legal culture. It will include visits to the Court of Justice of the EU in Luxembourg and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

Participation conditions

  • This event is open only to participants selected by the supporting Bar associations.
  • Applications should be submitted before 1 May 2023.

  • The travel costs will be reimbursed as unit costs. For more information see the European Commission website here.
  • Maximum 9 hotel nights will be covered and booked directly by ERA (only these accommodation costs will be covered).

Who should attend?

Young lawyers in private practice, including trainee lawyers and – in jurisdictions in which initial training does not include a period of legal practice – newly qualified lawyers with less than three years of experience.
