Objective
Twenty years after the European Court of Justice’s ground-breaking ruling on the liability of Member States for infringements of Community law, this anniversary conference will provide practitioners of law with an analysis of developments regarding the principle of state liability and its implementation in the EU. The liability of EU institutions and its convergence with Member State liability will also be discussed. Another focus will be new aspects of state liability such as private liability for breaches of EU law and liability for breaching fundamental rights.
