14 January 2020
Negotiations on new EU collective redress rules to begin.
The draft
rules allow consumer organisations to seek remedy against trader violations in
areas such as data protection, financial services, travel and tourism, energy,
telecommunications, environment and health. The draft bill introduces the
“loser pays principle” which is, like other issues, heavily debated.
This and additional topics will be discussed at our conference on “Collective Redress in the EU“ on 16-17 April 2020 in Trier. The event will also be streamed live.
