Objective
Join Europe’s most
exciting event on data protection in law enforcement on 21-22 October
2025 in Valetta, Malta.
“Red Light, Green Light” is a well-known term in
the data protection and cybersecurity community, often used to indicate
whether a project has been assessed as compliant or
non-compliant.
At the same time, it carries a pop-cultural
reference to the children’s game that gained widespread recognition
through the Netflix series Squid Game, where the stakes are life and
death. In this sense, there are striking parallels to data protection
and cybersecurity in law enforcement, as these issues can also have
serious, real-world consequences for individuals.
Each year, EDEN organises a conference with
speakers and participants from law enforcement, the data protection
community, private industry, NGOs, academia, and other interested
sectors. To date, eight large-scale EDEN events have been held in The
Hague (2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024), Copenhagen (2019), Rome (2021),
and Madrid (2023). In addition, EDEN has hosted panels at the
International Conference on Computers, Privacy, and Data Protection
(CPDP) in Brussels every year since 2020.
