ERA offers courses in legal English in cooperation with Loquitur of London The main objectives of this course, relevant to all areas of practice, are:

• to help lawyers expand their knowledge of English legal terminology
• to communicate more effectively in spoken English in professional contexts
• to improve oral fluency

The course is of a practical nature and focuses on the improvement of speaking and listening skills. This is achieved by means of a series of instructive and enjoyable activities often incorporating authentic legal documents and using role-play to recreate realistic legal situations. Speaking and listening skills in particular are stimulated by means of group communication activities, encouraging participants to exchange ideas and to employ the legal language which is the central focus of study.
