Journalists play a key role in explaining developments in European law
not only to the general public but also to many of those responsible
for putting that law into practice.
This seminar will provide interested journalists whose work requires
them to cover stories related to EU law, especially the European Court
of Justice and Court of First Instance, with a deeper understanding of
the courts’ role in the European Union, their organisational structure
and working procedures as well as recent developments. It will be an
opportunity to gather background information and conduct informal
discussions on significant recent cases and the areas of law most
affected by the courts’ jurisprudence.
The first day at the ERA Congress Centre in Trier will focus on
analysis of the institutional and thematic issues. The second day in
Luxembourg will enable participants to see the ECJ in action.
