Objective
This two-and-a-half day workshop will provide the participants with
an overview of EU environmental assessment law with a focus on the
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental
Assessment (SEA) Directives. The focus will be on scope, screening and
judicial control under EIA/SEA Directives.
Emphasis will be given to the interaction with other forms of assessment
in EU environmental legislation and participatory rights in the context
of EIA/SEA Directives.
By addressing these issues that may be relevant for judges, this
workshop aims at facilitating the handling of future national court
proceedings in this field.
