Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Martina is a certified lawyer with over 15 years of experience in EU law and policy. She holds a Master's degree in Law from the University of National and World Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria (2002), an LL.M. in International and European Law from Tilburg University (2023), and a University Diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property from the University of Strasbourg - CEIPI (2023).
Martina's professional career includes roles in the European Parliament, international organisations, private law companies and independent legal practice. From 2013 to 2021, she worked as a Senior Policy Adviser in the European Parliament, where she specialised in EU legislative processes and political analysis, drafted legislative and policy reports, and conducted legal and policy research. Earlier roles consisted of legal internships at the Court of Justice of the European Union and the UN International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
Martina’s legal writing also includes articles and responses to legal questions in national media. She is also a co-founder of the Bulgarian Association for European Law.
