Lawyer (Course Director) European Public Law

Would you like to work at the cutting edge of European law, helping judges, lawyers and other legal professionals to put the latest developments into practice?

The Academy of European Law is the leading partner of the European institutions, national administrations and professional associations in continuing professional training in European law.

We are looking for a new member of our team from 1 November 2015 or later:



Lawyer (Course Director) in European Public Law

with expertise and/or professional experience in European institutional law, litigation before the CJEU and the ECtHR, European Human Rights law, disability law

Your job will be to prepare and run training courses, organise high-level conferences and develop e-learning modules targeted at practitioners of European law such as civil servants, judges, prosecutors, lawyers in private practice and in-house counsel.

You have strong networking and communication skills and are fluent in at least two of ERA’s three working languages (English, French and German). Legal practice or professional experience in the relevant fields of law, as well as sound knowledge of the EU institutions’ decision-making process would be an advantage. Native English speakers and lawyers with a common or Nordic law background are particularly encouraged to apply.

The post is for an initial fixed term/maternity cover of one year
. The normal place of work is the city of Trier in Germany, just over the border from the EU‘s judicial capital in Luxembourg, and regular travel is part of the job.
