Information for applicants
ERA provides scholarships to enable lawyers, judges, prosecutors and officials from the new and future EU member states to attend events organised by ERA in Trier.
The scholarship covers:
Accommodation
Accommodation arrangements will be made directly by ERA. The standard hotel is the Golden Tulip Trier, Metzer Allee 6, 54295 Trier. Under certain circumstances different accommodation may be arranged.

The scholarship covers:
- a contribution towards travelling expenses, depending on the distance involved and the applicant's financial circumstances;
- hotel accommodation in Trier during the event;
- the participation fees.

- Scholarships are exclusively granted for seminars or conferences organised in our congress centre in Trier and the programme does not apply to language courses.
- Normally, scholarships are only granted for one event and only in exceptional circumstances can candidates who have already received a scholarship expect to be re-awarded a grant.
- Applicants should not register for an event before obtaining a decision on their scholarship application.
- Successful applicants will be asked to write a report on how they made use of the scholarship in their work.
